I'm really loving my little mini-vacation and I'm having a blast with what's turning into a Villains typography series. Funny how you can forget how fun design can be until you do something TOTALLY frivolous.

That's Ursula's outline, am I right? It looks like you're looking up at her with her arms crossed. It can also be the setting sun, but those things look too much like tentacles and ripples.
It's meant to be abstract shapes that suggest elements of the story: sunset, sea, land/air and of course, Ursula's iconic tentacles. It's not really an illustration of "Ursula" in a literal sense, but I guess that's the cool thing about abstraction, it can take on lots of different interpretations.
Epic! Power and subtlety is hard to achieve in the same piece and I love how the whole composition transitions from above, surface, to below, I can't think of a more elegant way to cover the subject matter - this is awesome -
